From Pie Factory to PEAL Expert

I'm Tara. I ran a pie factory on the Central Coast of NSW. I've worked with over 100 bakeries across Australia, placing skilled bakers and helping food businesses grow.

For more than 20 years, I've lived the realities of food production — the 4am starts, the ingredient sourcing headaches, the labelling requirements that seem to change every few years. I know what it's like to stand on a production floor at 5am, peeling labels off products because a supplier changed an ingredient without telling you.

When PEAL was announced, I watched hundreds of food businesses — bakeries, manufacturers, cafés, food service operators — scramble to understand what it meant for them. The government guidance was dense. The legal documents were impenetrable. Consultants were quoting $5,000+ for basic compliance audits. And nobody — not one person — was explaining PEAL in plain language.
